As a platinum sponsor of this year’s National Manufacturing Week, Autodesk will be showcasing products from its 2010 Design Software Portfolio on stand 1915.
In addition to Autodesk Inventor, the foundation software for digital prototyping, other products to be demonstrated include AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Showcase 2010 and Autodesk Navisworks 2010.
The Inventor 2010 product line is said to introduce new usability and productivity enhancements for 2D product documentation, 3D product design, extended simulation capabilities, a strong focus on plastic part creation, and new data management and exchange capabilities.
Other updates to the Digital Prototyping products for manufacturers include a streamlined design environment in AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 and a circuit builder tool to facilitate “green” engineering decisions using AutoCAD Electrical 2010.
AutoCAD 2010 enables designers to more easily create innovative designs with the addition of new free-form design tools that enable users to push and pull faces, edges and vertices; model complex shapes; and add smooth surfaces. AutoCAD 2010 now also supports 3D printing, facilitating the production of physical 3D models and prototypes.
Autodesk has also released an updated version of Autodesk Showcase 2010, now with integrated raytracing; and Autodesk Navisworks 2010 software has new measuring tools and sectioning enhancements to help improve workflow.
