AGILENT Technologies has introduced a new optical power meter with four or eight power-sensor channels that has been designed to provide increased throughput and operational efficiency.
Designed for characterising optical multiport components, the optical power meters are said to offer good solutions for device connectivity, high-speed measurement data acquisition and fast data transfer for post-processing.
It offers a short minimum averaging time of 1µs and a high dynamic range during swept wavelength measurements. The fast sample rate of 1 Ms/s enables time-resolved measurement of transient signals.
Additional features of the company’s optical power meter include: a new fiber connectivity concept that separates the connecting task from the measurement task with removable connector holder, a new LAN and USB interfaces allowing the system to offer optimised throughput and data transfer for post-processing.
For compatibility with existing equipment, the GPIB interface is also included and a multiport power meter designed to enable fast measurement solutions for all multiport devices, for example multiplexers, PON splitters, wavelength switches and ROADMs.
