New national quantum centre at Sydney University to accelerate industry growth

The Australian Government has awarded $18.4 million to the University of Sydney to establish a ‘single front door’ for Australia’s quantum industry.

The University of Sydney will receive the funding through the Australian Centre for Quantum Growth program, following an open competitive grant application process.

The new centre, Quantum Australia, will help grow Australia’s quantum industry by supporting the adoption, progress and commercialisation of quantum technologies.

The centre will create connections across the quantum ecosystem while educating the broader community on quantum technologies.

The centre will also champion responsible and inclusive quantum technology development which will strengthen Australia’s position as a global quantum leader.

This funding will help deliver on the National Quantum Strategy and its vision for a thriving quantum industry in Australia.
