The Tasmanian Government will provide grants up to $100,000 under the latest round of the Advanced Manufacturing Accelerating Growth Grant program.
Grants between $10,000 and $100,000 are available to Tasmanian businesses with demonstrated turnover between $500,000 and $55 million.
Premier and Minister for Trade and Major Investment, Jeremy Rockliff, said this successful program is an important part of the 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.
“This $1 million program will help strengthen Tasmania’s advanced manufacturing sector by supporting investment in innovative equipment, enabling businesses to increase off-island markets and create local jobs,” said Rockliff.
“This program has delivered critical support to local businesses, with the first five rounds investing $3.5 million in 50 companies, generating additional investment of $9.77 million in Tasmania and 269 new jobs.”
Manufacturing is a critical sector in Tasmania, contributing $2 billion annually to the Tasmanian economy and is the state’s largest export industry.
Employing around 20,000 Tasmanians directly and a further 33,000 flow on jobs are created by the sector.
