More Chinese problems

TOY giant Mattel has been forced to recall close to a million toys, under the Fisher-Price brand, following the discovery of high levels of lead in a wide range of toys in Australia, NZ, US and UK.

All the toys were made at the same plant in China, said to be Lee Der Industrial.

The CEO of the company, Zhang Shuhong is reported to have committed suicide following the recall.

Earlier this year, Sheridan was forced to recall thousands of blankets after Australian authorities found imported blankets were contaminated with potentially life-threatening levels of carcinogen.
