Mitsubishi’s 380 manufacturing equipment up for grabs

Mitsubishi has announced plans to sell its manufacturing plant and equipment in Adelaide via international online auction and negotiated sales.

The equipment is being offered from the Tonsley Park site which formerly manufactured the Mitsubishi 380 sedan. 90% of the assets from the plant will be sold online at graysonline.com.au, with the remaining 10% also listed on the website and sold by negotiation.

“This project is the largest industrial sale ever managed by GraysOnline with one asset alone, the press line, expecting to realise several million dollars,” said GraysOnline’s CEO, Cameron Poolman.

Over 3,000 major assets are being sold over the next few months, including the following items by negotiated sale: 13 metal stamping lines, five blanking press lines, blanking shear line, four spotting presses, three hemming presses, seven automatic robotic welding cells, a large quantity of 2004 Kawasaki robots and resistance spot welders, six CNC, copy and floor mills, an automatic car body storage and retrieval system (2005), automatic wheel and tyre assembly system (2004), MTS hydraulic test system, complete small parts electro dip facility.

All other assets will be offered for auction at www.graysonline.com.au including: plastics paint shop equipment, a bumper bar storage and retrieval system, large quantity of portable buildings, car assembly equipment, robotic welding systems, engineering equipment, spot welders, stillages, canteen equipment, storage systems, warehouse structures, boilers, air compressors, complete water treatment facility, transformers, overhead travelling gantry cranes, overhead belt and roller conveyor systems and a large quantity of parts, motors, valves, salvaged factory equipment and scrap metal.

“This sale presents an excellent opportunity for industrial buyers to purchase quality plant and machinery at a great price,” Poolman said.

• International Online Auction – Vehicle Assembly Plant & Equipment, Auction Opens Thursday 5th February and Closes Wednesday 11th February, 2009. Offers are invited on major assembly assets prior to auction.

• International Online Auction – Press Shop & Welding Assembly, Auction Opens Thursday 19th March and Closes Wednesday 25 March, 2009.

• Online Auction – Paint, Electro Coating & Water Treatment, Auction Opens Thursday 15th January and Closes on Wednesday 21st January, 2009. Offers are invited for whole or large sections of individual lines prior to auction.
