Milk has been by Coles in Western Australia due to contamination concerns at Lion’s Bentley factory.
The ABC and others report that Coles has requested one-litre containers of Fresh full cream and 98 per cent fat-free Hilo milk (both expiring February 6); Pura Hilo, Masters flavoured and Farmers Union iced coffee (expiring February 6); and 300 and 600 mL Masters chocolate milk (expiration dated February 6).
A full refund is being offered by Coles on affected products.
The source of the recall is a possible microbial coliform contamination, which can cause gastrointestinal problems, said Coles in a statement.
Lion said in a statement that there hadn’t been any customer complaints, and that tests of retention samples of the batches in question did not find any contaminants.
