Merger forms largest machine vision provider in ANZ

Adept Electronic Solutions and Total Turnkey Solutions will merge to become the largest provider of machine vision and imaging products and services in Australia and New Zealand.

Trading under a new name, Adept Turnkey will now hold a portfolio consisting of products and advanced technologies, which is expected to bring enhanced growth opportunities to the industrial machine vision company.

The merger will take effect on 1 July 2011.

Adept chief executive officer, Marc Fimeri said the merger will see the creation of a larger and stronger company in the face of increasing international pressures to offer better value to its customers.

"This merger will create a larger and stronger company to enhance the quality and value of our offering to our customers,” Fimeri said.

“Customers will see real benefits from this merger in better support, better systems and lower costs. It will also allow us to be better placed to grow into new markets and expand nationally, internationally and to adjust to the changing landscape of the automation sector.

“The Turnkey Solutions team not only brings excellent machine vision expertise but also complementary product lines and products in the areas of data acquisition/test and measurement equipment, industrial automation and industrial computing products and systems,” he said.

The merged company will reportedly will have a combined expertise of over 50 years, making it the most experienced supplier of machine vision technology in the country today, Adept said in a statement.

Both companies are said to have received approval and encouragement from their respective suppliers.

All products currently supplied by the two companies will continue to be supplied and supported under Adept Turnkey.

According to Turnkey Solutions sales director, Mark Goulding, the merger will bring a stronger national customer support, expanded product offerings, a broader customer base and increased value to Turnkey existing clients.

Adept Turnkey will be offering looking to fill new roles as part of a planned expansion.

Marc Fimeri has been appointed as Adept Turnkey CEO, Mark Goulding as sales manager and Kevin Dowsey as technical manager.

Adept Turnkey will have offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. The company says that plans for expansion are already well defined.
