Matex 2008 ready to launch

A NEW and exciting time is ahead for the warehousing and materials handling sector.

With the massive expansion in warehousing sector in Australia over the past decade due to rise in imported and locally produce goods, and with consumer spending at a historic high, there have been many innovative systems developed to meet warehousing markets needs.

The latest equipment and storage systems available to the Australian market will be on display at MATEX 2008, with many new releases at the show.

MATEX, Australia’s premier materials handling & warehousing expo, has undergone some exciting changes for next year.

As well as being being held in a new venue, the event also includes a conference and live demonstrations of the latest forklifts and Automated Guided Vehicle’s (AGVs) and with a forklift drivers championship to be run in conjunction with MATEX 2008, the material handling and warehousing logistics industry is in for a very special show.

Organisers of MATEX 2008 Exhibitions are also pleased to announce the participation of the Supply Chain Logistic Association Australia (SCLAA) who will hold their conference over a two day period during next year’s show.

This is the first time that the SCLAA will hold their conference associated exclusively with this event and this will enable delegate’s access to all of the products and equipment on display during the conference days.

Day one will focus on ‘Strategy and Management’ and day two ‘Back to Basics’.

Alongside the conference, the SCLAA will be hosting the inaugural forklift competition, where a purpose built competition course will be used by competitors with a series of trials prior to Matex 2008 taking place in Sydney, with the finals being held on Thursday 17th April at MATEX.

Companies involved in sponsoring some of the demonstrations as well as showcasing their products at the expo include Metalsistem Australia, Hyster Australia, Loscam and Hubtex Australia.
