A report by Research and Markets predicts the market for 3D printing in concrete will grow from $US 24.5 million last year to $US 56.4 million by 2021.
The report by the research firm lists the major players globally as DUS Architects (The Netherlands), Skanska (Sweden), Fosters + Partners (U.K.), WinSun Global (China), Sika (Europe), LafargeHolcim (Europe), Balfour Beatty (U.K.), and Carilliom (U.K.)
By concrete type, the market is divided into ready-mix concrete, precast concrete, shotcrete, high-density concrete and other.
3Dprint.com reports that a more than doubling of global growth will be led by the Asia Pacific. China, in particular, leads the world in growth of adoption for the niche application.
Late last month Dubai announced that it had opened what was claimed to be the world’s first 3D printed office building. This was assembled in China by WinSun, before being shipped and assembled.
