Manufacturing jobs secured by new CSR Gyprock facility

A new CSR Gyprock plant at Yarraville, Victoria, was officially opened in May, securing 160 manufacturing jobs and hiking production by 45%.

Premier Ted Baillieu, Minister for Manufacturing Richard Dalla-Riva, CSR Managing Director Rob Sindel and company employees officially opened the $160 million Gyprock plant on 9 May. The facility is said to guarantee 160 manufacturing jobs and strengthen the competitiveness of the facility to supply the construction and building industry in Victoria and nationwide.

Designed to increase production capacity, the new facility also aims to help boost Australia’s struggling construction industry, and lift CSR’s production by up to 45%.

Dalla-Riva praised the sustainable design of the new facility. The building was engineered to reduce gas usage by 35% and reduce water usage by 20%.
