Manufacturing Execution Systems seminar to take place in Aus

Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA) International will hold its first annual MESA Australia Seminar in Melbourne on 7 September 2010.

According to MESA International, Australian manufacturers continue to face challenges in a fiercely competitive global market. These challenges include: improving quality and productivity; reducing production costs; and complying with increased regulations.

The association claims Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) are emerging as a key enabler of world class performance and Australian manufacturers, consultants and system integrators need a higher level understanding of the role they play, best practices for implementation and potential return on investment.

Presentation topics will include: the business & technology reasons for an MES implementation; real time manufacturing KPI’s; and the vision to leverage the MES Information Factory in an integrated supply chain.

Confirmed speakers for the seminar include:
• Bluescope Steel CIO, Andrew Baker
• Schweppes Australia national continuous improvement manager, Dwaine Febey
• Adelaide Brighton Cement operations manager, Vince Aurora
• and Qenos process control team leader, Richard Wawrzon
