FOR format adjustments, igus has now developed the new DryLin EasyTube maintenance-free linear guide unit, available in Australia through Treotham Automation.
|
Lubrication-free, this extremely compact and lightweight system consists of six individual parts: lead screw, tube, two clamping rings, attachment flange, and slide block.
This new linear system was developed in close collaboration with DryLin customers from application sectors including the packaging and food engineering industries, and can be conceivably applied to other areas such as camera and sensor positioning.
One particular customer requested smooth geometric shapes without undercuts and recessions, which could act as dirt traps.
With an external tube guiding the slide block, its trapezoidal lead screw and nut are integrated into the tube so they are protected against external influences, and the EasyTube system as a whole is kept as small as possible by this space-saving design.
Because the tube itself supports any applied moment, a second guide shaft is not required and wear-resistance is actually maximised by EasyTube’s compact single-tube design.
The slide block, moment support, and lead screw nut are from a single moulding of the igus heavy-duty polymer iglidur P. This material is characterised by its high wear resistance, low friction values and minimal moisture absorption.
Two end blocks for attaching the DryLin EasyTube or for mounting accessories, such as a position indicator or manual-clamping device, also serve as a radial and axial bearing system for the lead screw.
As multifunctional components, these end blocks are also made of lubrication-free iglidur P, guaranteeing optimised wear behaviour.
With DryLin EasyTube, adjustment tasks can be implemented, maintenance-free, up to 15kg in vertical installation positions, or up to 50kg for an extremely rapid horizontal setup.
The system, available ex-stock immediately with a diameter of 12mm, 25mm and 30mm, is temperature-resistant to 80°C, corrosion-resistant when a stainless steel lead screw is used, and available in anodised aluminium or stainless steel.
