A NSW manufacturer based in Inverell has won a $128,500 grant from the Federal Government to help cut power use and introduce renewable energy.
According to The Inverell Times the funding will help Boss Engineering install a 100kW solar PV system, replace current lighting with LED lights, and install a power factor correction unit.
The renovation is expected to cost a total $257,000 but will result in energy savings of $65,000 a year for the farm equipment maker.
The improvements will also result in the firm cutting carbon emissions by 34 per cent.
The funding will come from Canberra's Clean Technology Investment Program, and independent Member for New England Tony Windsor said the grant would help spur innovation at the local business.
Windsor also thanked the Government for supporting local manufacturers and helping businesses cut power costs and emissions.
