Liquidator refers Bramco director to ASIC

Bramco
Electronics’ liquidator has referred the company’s former director to ASIC over
his failure to cooperate in producing information.

Mark Leishman, the sole director of the collapsed company, has been referred to the corporate regulator for further investigation after failing to cooperate with liquidator David Mansfield of Moore Stephens.

The Newcastle Herald reports that the Court of Appeal has also agreed with a
Supreme Court ruling that Bramco Electronics Australia had made and sold a
product in violation of a patent held by another company, ATF Mining.

The Herald had previously reported that Bramco Electronics had been put in liquidation
and subsequently re-emerged as Bramco Electronics Australia, operating out of
the same premises.

In
December, Bramco blamed its difficulties on a “severe downturn in the mining industry and an
increasingly competitive global marketplace” in a statement.
