Speedily erected tanks designed to protect the environment for a wide range of industries are being introduced by the Tasman Tank Company.
The double-lined circular heavy duty bolted tanks are part of a range extending up to 30 megalitres capacity that has already been proven in applications ranging from food and beverage manufacturing, dairy and primary production, mining, resources, energy and heavy industrial applications.
The large diameter, low profile tanks – which can be speedily erected on-site by Tasman Tanks’ design, fabricate and construct teams – are ideal as a cost-efficient alternative to above-ground concrete tanks or lined in-ground reservoirs that might ultimately be prone to deterioration or seepage.
“Many industries operating in environmentally sensitive locations employ large volumes of water that must be stored in sealed environmentally protective containers until it can be treated for recycling,” said Tasman Tank Company general manager, Jason McLauchlan.
“Many are rapidly developing industries, which need cost effective quickly built secure storage, which can subsequently be more readily removed when sites are required to be remediated.”
Tasman Tank Co offers:
- Proven speedy erection in demanding sites extending from remote resources areas such as the Pilbara, to food and beverage production, primary production, waste water, recycling, desalination, energy and heavy industry applications with high environmental standards. Tasman Tank Co builds more than 200 large industrial tanks a year.
- Wide experience with environmentally protective tanks and those involved in zero discharge applications where tanks must be totally sealed and their contents isolated from outside contaminants and free of elements in the tank’s structure that might react with the contents over time.
- Double lined with primary liners specified according to environmental requirements of particular sites, while secondary leak containment liners rest on a geotextlile cushion layer on graded earthen floors.
- Large diameter, low profile tanks engineered for optimum speed of construction and stability in service, with leak detection pipes where required, and floating covers.
- All tanks are designed and certified to local standards including AS/NZS1170, and Seismic design to NZ Red Book.
“At Tasman we pride ourselves on looking at the whole picture and tailoring a solution for our clients. In this instance the remote location, limited site access for heavy machinery and a simplified remediation process after the environmental threat passed were the key design parameters. Our modular, no heavy machinery, no concrete foundation design meets these design parameters”
The company’s products have been selected for diverse applications requiring durable service, ranging from mines such as FMG Cloudbreak, Oz Minerals Prominent Hill and Iluka, through to the Tarong and Waitaki Power stations and the new Bluetongue Brewery on NSW’s Central Coast. They are also widely used in municipal, process, desalination and water and waste water applications.
Each Tasman Tank is certified to all relevant codes, with independent engineers providing verification of specifications and performance. The company provides cost-effective storage solution in capacities from kilolitres (KL) to 30 megalitres (ML). Tasman Tank Co also specialises in turnkey projects and service and refurbishment work through its dedicated Service and Refurbishment Division.
