Australian startup, Knowledge Orchestrator, has announced general availability of its groundbreaking knowledge management platform, specifically designed to meet the needs of the Australian manufacturing sector.
After more than two years in development and an investment of over $1 million, this innovative solution promises to revolutionise how manufacturing companies harness and apply knowledge to make faster, better decisions.
The solution aims to enhance employee productivity by providing personalised actionable insights allowing for faster and more informed decision-making processes.
“Our platform boosts employee productivity by empowering them to make better decisions faster, ultimately improving business performance,” said the company’s founder, Dr. Errol Brandt.
A Solution Born from Tragedy
Knowledge Orchestrator’s inception stems from a personal experience by Dr. Brandt, who sought to address the significant risks posed by the sudden loss of corporate knowledge. After the unexpected death of a key team member, Dr. Brandt was motivated to create a more reliable way to capture and retain organisational expertise.
“Catastrophic knowledge loss occurs when crucial business processes are disrupted due to incomplete or inaccessible organisational understanding,” said Brandt.
“This is particularly detrimental when it involves complex systems like spreadsheets that govern critical processes such as pricing and capital investments.”
To combat this, Dr. Brandt began working on a prototype, initially as a personal project, leveraging IBM Cloud® technology. By the end of 2022, the prototype was ready for testing, and Knowledge Orchestrator Pty Ltd was formed with two co-founders to bring the solution to market.
A Game-Changing AI-Powered Platform
Built using IBM Cloud and powered by IBM watsonx.ai™, Knowledge Orchestrator’s platform offers an enterprise-grade, AI-powered knowledge management solution. By utilising a proprietary approach called Pre-Enhanced Generation (PEG), Knowledge Orchestrator transforms unstructured data into structured, usable knowledge. This allows employees to access high-quality, domain-specific information quickly, minimising operational disruption and improving decision-making efficiency.
The platform has been operational for more than a year, allowing Knowledge Orchestrator to continuously improve its features. The company itself, acting as “client zero,” has already seen a 3.8x boost in employee productivity.
Commercial Impact and Future Expansion
Following extensive testing with foundation customers, the platform is now available for Australian manufacturing companies, with plans to expand into other business areas such as sales forecasting, production analytics, and profitability simulation.
“AI-powered applications can significantly augment employee productivity,” said Brandt.
“The numbers speak for themselves, and we are excited to bring this capability to more enterprises across Australia.”
