Kitchen company Kitset sells its assets

Kitset Kitchens held an auction for its plant and equipment at Hamilton, Victoria yesterday after the family-run company went into liquidation earlier in November.

The Courier and others reported in the first half of the month that the kitchen company, established in 1946, had had Bent and Cougle appointed as its liquidators.

Over 30 jobs were lost at the family-run company.

Hamish McKinnon from bent and Cougle told the ABC that secured creditors should get all their money back, but there would be no such luck for unsecured creditors.

“There are recoveries down the track and hopefully there will be a small return but at this stage I’m expecting there will not be a return [for unsecured creditors],” he said.
