Intercad set for solid growth in WA

AUSTRALIAN-owned 3D CAD/CAM specialist Intercad has appointed Pat Cleary as State Manager, Western Australia.

Cleary is tasked with leveraging the growth in the state’s resources sector to support Intercad’s planned growth.

Intercad supplies specialist computer-based design software and services to mining companies, and engineering contractors that support those companies, to assist in the design of mining equipment.

Intercad is the sole distributor of SolidWorks CAD/CAM technology in Australia and New Zealand and recently sold the 10,000th licence of the software in the region.

Cleary will concentrate on increasing Intercad’s market share in the mining and resources sector and will recruit new account management and technical people to better service the company’s existing and potential customers.

Cleary has more than 25 years experience in technical, sales and general management positions in the information technology and telecommunications industries.

He has worked with start-up businesses and also with established businesses to help them enter new markets. Prior to joining Intercad Cleary was Silk telecom’s Perth Sales Manager.

Scott Frayne, Intercad’s Managing Director, said Cleary’s extensive experience in the West Australian market means he is well-suited to manage Intercad’s operations in this state and to drive its push into the resources sector.

“Our West Australian customers not only rely on the supply of the right software but are dependent on our specialist technical support and services so they can get the most out of their CAD/CAM packages,” Frayne said.

“Pat’s local knowledge gives us another layer of expertise we can draw on to continue to resolve our customers’ technical and business issues, as well as attract new business.”
