Hyundai has launched a voluntary recall of around 17,000 new model Tucson SUVs in Australia, following an incident in New Zealand where a bonnet unlatched by itself.
The recall notice on the ACCC website reads: “Under certain conditions the bonnet can lift suddenly and block the front vision of the driver.”
Fixing the issue is free, takes 20 minutes, and can be performed after booking an appointment at a local dealership, according to Hyundai.
There have been no reported incidents in Australia.
