FOLLOWING the introduction of the smallest internally-cooled solid carbide drill in the world, Titex has now extended its range to include a solid carbide, externally-cooled high-performance miniature drill.

The externally-cooled miniature drill is characterised by an optimised flute and tip geometry. This way users can drill with process security using high cutting data.
The tools also have a Tinal Micor Line coating that has been optimised for miniature drills and offers wear protection with very good chip removal.
Smaller diameters are possible by eliminating cooling channels.
The new range that offers more than 80 dimensions extends from 0.5mm to 2.9mm in diameter. The tools are available in two designs for drilling depths up to 5xd and 8xd.
Because of the optimised geometry, drilling depths of 8xd can be achieved in numerous materials – despite the external cooling – and without ventilation.
All tools have a standard shaft in accordance with DIN 6535 form HA and a diameter of 3mm. The overall lengths enable sufficient space between the workpiece and tensioning equipment so that swarf can be safely carried off.
Alpha 2 Plus Micro can be used universally in steel, cast iron materials and aluminium, as well as copper alloys.
With the internally-cooled ALPHA 4 PLUS Micro and the externally-cooled Alpha 2 Plus Micro, Titex is offering efficient solutions to achieve small holes.
Both types boast high productivity with optimum process security for a variety of materials.
