High capacity sorting system

MATERIALS handling company Industrial Conveying has formed an association with FKI Logistex and has brought its Multi-Sorter technology to the Australia market.

The system is designed to sort a variety of small items through to larger packages.

Utilising a combination of high capacity feeders and automatic induction units, the system is designed to sort a wide variety of small items such as flats and letters through to larger packages and parcels.

With a wide variety of in-feed stations, and both manual and automatic induction options, this high capacity cross-belt sorter can handle a wide range of items up to a capacity of 22,500 items per hour.

Accommodating a wide mix of package types in a single batch, the destination system discharges and positions items to the required orientation in all known transport media: from small items stacked perfectly into totes to parcels sorted directly into containers.

Flexible configuration and a modular design minimises area requirements, allowing installation in the most irregular of spaces. The average installation usually occupies a footprint of only 70m x 15m.

Barcode reading and labelling, image capture, OCR scanning, and video coding are all standard attributes of the Multi-Sorter’s control and information system.
