The Federal Government is set to give $2.5 million in grants to small businesses in the textile, clothing and footwear industry.
The grants come as part of new funding round for the TCF Small Business Program, an initiative designed to support TCF small and medium businesses.
“Through the TCF Small Business Program, businesses can apply for grants of up to $50,000 a project, which will boost the competitiveness of smaller Australian designers and manufacturers in domestic and overseas markets,” said Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.
“The program will promote innovation in mentoring, marketing and branding, supply chains, e-commerce and export opportunity development by small designers and manufacturers.
“Businesses that are enterprising and innovative are those best able to respond to tougher market conditions. I urge small businesses to take advantage of this program.
Applications for the latest funding round for the TCF Small Business Program close on 26 February 2010.
