Three workers at a seafood factory in Vietnam’s Ba Ria Vung Tau province in the country’s south-east have died after being overcome by gas.
Thanh Hien News reports that two workers at Truang Duc Seafood Company’s factory were climbing down into a wastewater tunnel to collect fish scales before succumbing to what’s believed to have been poisonous gas.
The two men fell into water nearly 1 metre deep, before a co-worker went in to rescue them. All three workers fainted and were taken to Ba Ria Hospital, but none recovered.
Local police are investigating the exact cause of the death.
