FUJIFILM Electronic Materials will start a new company in South Korea to manufacture semiconductor material.
The company has entered an agreement with South Korean film exax to establish the new venture. Certain assets of exax, including its factory facilities are to be transferred to the new company.
exax was established in 1976 as a chemical manufacturing company. It supplies materials, including display materials to major display manufacturers in South Korea.
The new joint venture will supply electronic material products including CMP slurries, cleaners and developers to major semiconductor manufacturers in South Korea.
The products are compatible with the latest semiconductor manufacturing processes that are based on proprietary technologies belonging to the Fujifilm company.
