Formero and XYZ Innovation bought-out by US company 3D Systems

Australia rapid manufacturing and 3D printers supplier Formero and its subsidiary company XYZ Innovation, have both been bought-out by US-based 3D Systems Corporation.

3D Systems is a provider of 3D content-to-print solutions including 3D printers, print materials and on-demand custom parts services for professionals and consumers.

Formero and XYZ Innovation will operate under the name 3D Systems Asia-Pacific, providing an expanded range of products and services including 3D printers, design productivity tools, prototyping and manufacturing services.

Formero managing director Simon Marriott said the firm’s customers will now be able to deal with the one supplier company for all their 3D printing and prototyping needs.

“Over the last decade, Formero and XYZ Innovation have been dedicated to providing its customers with innovative Rapid Manufacturing solutions to their product development challenges,” he said.

“We are excited to become part of 3D Systems Corporation. This change means we can now deliver even greater benefits to our customers with the entire range of 3D Systems rapid prototyping and 3D printing solutions.”

Formero will still provide personal, professional and production 3D printers – including plastic and metal printing solutions – through XYZ Innovation.

“We are very pleased to add a company of Formero’s reputation, experience and scale to our fastest growing Asia Pacific region,” said 3D Systems president and chief executive officer Abe Reichental.

“With key operations in Australia and China under the capable leadership of Simon Marriott and proven custom parts services and printer solutions growth record, Formero represents a significant milestone in our Asia-Pacific expansion plans.”
