Building on the popularity of last year’s awards, we have introduced four new categories for the 2011 event.

New for 2011:

  • Food Safety & Innovation in Non-Food
  • Organic & All Natural
  • Packaging Design
  • Ingredient Innovation

Food Safety & Innovation in Non-Food, which is being sponsored by HACCP Australia, has been added to the list to recognise and celebrate the importance that many non-food items serve in processing and handling products safely in the food chain – be that equipment, fit out, utensils, cleaning materials among many others.

With consumers increasingly turning away from products with complicated addictives and looking instead for simpler, more natural foods, the Organic and All Natural category, which is being sponsored by Flavour Makers, has also been introduced.

The Packaging Design category, sponsored by Formite, has been introduced to recognise the creativity and innovation that goes into food and beverages packaging.

The new Ingredient Innovation category will recognise any innovation made at the ingredient level of food production. For example flavours, spices, and even nano-foods!

The new Food and Packaging Processors award will celebrate machinery that can be used to package food products, including primary and secondary packaging, palletising and transportation support.

Sponsorship for this award is still available.
