The tenth annual Manufacturers' Monthly Endeavour Awards last night celebrated excellence and innovation in Australia's manufacturing industry.
The night started with Manufacturing Australia chair Sue Morphet discussing the current state of manufacturing in Australia, and the damage a lack of gas reservation policy will have on the industry's future.
Morphet presented the audience with a dire future if we do not ensure manufacturers have access to a gas energy supply that promises to cut costs.
Following her speech, Minister for Industry and Innovation Greg Combet provided a video address, outlining Australian manufacturing's current state and the future of the industry.
After his presentation shadow Minister for Industry and Innovation Sophie Mirabella took the stage, putting forward the opposition's plan for manufacturing, and the struggle ahead for the industry, but did go on to outline a brighter future.
After the addresses Shane Jacobson MC'd the event and proceeded to present the awards.
