WALTER AG UFL drills are now even more productive thanks to the new XPL coating. TITEX UFL drills made from HSS-E are an example of this.

Specially designed for use in small and medium-sized production runs up to 500 parts, the drills are regarded as an ideal solution. Due to their high cutting data and outstanding tool service lives, the tools can also be economically used in the most difficult of applications.
Optimal chip removal
Thanks to a special tip point, developers were able to reduce the cutting forces at the cutting edge by up to 30 percent. As a result, not only the component but also the tool itself is loaded less during machining. The positive result is higher cutting data and longer tool service lives.
A further advantage of the proven geometry: it allows for controlled chip breakage and thus ensures high process reliability. The large chip clearances of the special flat flute profile (40 degree helix angle) ensure that these chips are reliably removed even at large drilling depths.
Now the drill family has been expanded by another series: the TITEX UFL Xtreme Performance Line, in short, UFL XPL. This new generation is particularly suitable for machining steel (500 – 1300N/mm2), cast iron (GG, GGG), aluminium, wrought and cast alloys, as well as copper and copper alloys.
It’s all in the coating
The first practical application results are impressive. The worldwide unique multilayer coating with an aluminium chromium nitrate basis ensures tool service life extensions of up to 100 percent – and that at higher cutting data.
A reason for this is the high aluminium and chrome proportions which ensure that the heat is transported away from the cutting edge directly into the chips. Heat resistance is one reason and the other is toughness.
The coating build-up through different layers with specific properties ensures for an optimal protection of the sensitive cutting edges and protects these against abrasive wear.
The new tools can be easily differentiated, due to their red copper colour, from their colleagues in other UFL lines and are available ex stock in the dimensions DIN 1897 (stub length) and DIN 338 (jobber length).
