Export success for Australian manufacturer

Food processing and packaging manufacturer Heat and Control has been honoured twice at the 2009 Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards.

The company was named finalist in the Large Advanced Manufacturer category and went on to win the Tom Burns Award which recognises the success of emerging exporters to China or Vietnam. The award was established in 2007 in memory of the Honourable Tom Burns AO.

Heat and Control’s success in the Vietnamese market this year is a result of growth in the Vietnamese food industry in general and the investment in mechanisation and automation of processing and packaging systems.

It has been a successful year for Heat and Control, also winning the Large Advanced Manufacturer at the 2009 Queensland Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Export Excellence Awards.

Heat and Control employ 173 people at the Brisbane head office and manufacturing facility where the majority of engineering, manufacturing and services activities are export business.
