Export awards recognise achievement

THE 2008 Australian Export Awards (AEA) recognise Australian businesses for excellence and achievement in exporting. The program rewards and profiles the “best of the best” enterprises in exporting around the nation.

For the past 21 years, the Commonwealth Bank has sponsored the AEA. This year the Bank’s specific area of focus is on sponsoring the Small to Medium Manufacturer category which recognises an outstanding export achievement by a manufacturer with total annual sales of less than $30m.

“The Commonwealth Bank’s Trade area is committed to supporting companies of all sizes as they export goods and services from Australia. The strong growth in this business in the last year has been underpinned by providing Trade Finance facilities to companies ranging from household names to small family run operations,” said Stephen Holden, GM working capital finance, Commonwealth Bank.

“The focus this year in sponsoring the Small to Medium Manufacturer category is to emphasise the geographic spread of our Trade capability in providing export solutions to this segment of business across Australia.”

The winners of each of the eight State awards go through to the finals to be announced in December.
