Nominations are open for the 2022 Endeavour Awards

The 19th Annual, 2022 Endeavour Awards are presented annually by Manufacturers’ Monthly.

Recognised as the premier Awards program within the manufacturing industry, the evening is a chance for all involved in manufacturing across Australia to celebrate the many successes within the industry, to help share these successes with a broader audience, to network, and to learn more about the many remarkable personalities and enterprises that make the industry great.

With a disrupted 2020 and 2021, never has it been more important to innovate and the Endeavour Awards will highlight those innovative businesses and provide manufacturers from around Australia with industry-wide recognition.

Technology Application Award

A technology designed to enhance manufacturing processes. This category is for technology providers who sell their products to Australian manufacturing businesses.

  1. Technology must be new to market or have significant changes to an existing version, within the two years prior to the nominations closing date.
  2. Nomination must showcase how technology improves at least one of the following: production outputs, waste reduction, input reduction, environment, safety, cost-reduction, manufacturing efficiency and delivery in full and on time. (60 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate how technology differs from other available market offerings. (20 points)
  4. Nomination must include a case study/practical example demonstrating success. (20 points)

Environmental Solution of the Year

A process or technology that enhances environmental sustainability.

  1. Process or technology must be new to market or have significant changes to an existing version, within the two years prior to the nominations closing date.
  2. Nomination must demonstrate how solution improves environmental sustainability. (60 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate how solution differs from other available market offerings. (20 points)
  4. Nomination must include a case study/practical example demonstrating success. (20 points)

Outstanding Start-Up Award

A new product or technology that has been produced by an Australian manufacturing start-up.

  1. Company must be a new company with the product also new to market within the three years prior to nominations closing date.
  2. Describe the product or technology and why it was introduced. (30 points)
  3. Demonstrate the success and reception of the product – fulfilling an overall market need or gap. (70 points)

Global Supply Chain Integration of the Year – proudly sponsored by ICN

A product or technology that has recently entered international markets successfully.

  1. Product or technology must be new or have significant changes to an existing version and have entered international markets within the two years prior to the nominations closing date.
  2. The product must fill a gap in the market for the country/s it is being exported to. (40 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate the success of the product in the international market – i.e. financial gains, customer satisfaction, increasing orders, further international expansion. (60 points)

Safety Solution of the Year

A process or technology that enhances safety.

  1. Process or technology must be new to market or have significant changes to an existing version, within the two years prior to the nominations closing date.
  2. Nomination must demonstrate how solution improves safety. (60 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate how solution differs from other available market offerings. (20 points)
  4. Nomination must include a case study/practical example demonstrating success. (20 points)

Excellence in Manufacturing Skills Development

A program designed to develop the vocational skills of manufacturing employees. This could be a company offering an internal program, an educational institution offering a program to wider industry, or a collaboration between a company and an education institution.

  1. Program must be new to market or have significant changes to an existing version, within the two years prior to the nominations closing date, and have been in operation for at least six (6) months.
  2. Nomination must demonstrate how the program has been marketed to the manufacturing industry, and how participants are attracted. (50 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate the success of the program: increased job offers, rising numbers of program participants, more skilled or specialised roles available for this who complete the program. (50 points)

Australian Industrial Product of the Year – proudly sponsored by Vega

An Australian electrical, chemical or mechanical product that aids in the manufacturing process. This category is for companies that sell their products to manufacturers.

  1. Product must be new to market or have significant changes to an existing version, within the two years prior to the nominations closing date.
  2. Nomination must demonstrate how the product differs from other available market offerings. (20 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate how product enhances at least one of the following: cost-saving, efficiency, safety, environment, production outputs, waste reduction. (60 points)
  4. Nomination must include a case study/practical example demonstrating success. (20 points)

Most Innovative Manufacturing Company Award – proudly sponsored by SEW-Eurodrive

A company working to disrupt the Australian manufacturing industry.

  1. The innovation must be new to market or have significant changes to an existing version, within the two years prior to the nominations closing date.
  2. Nomination must explain the innovation that the company has introduced to disrupt the industry. (50 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate how the innovation improves the industry in at least one of the following areas: environment and sustainability, productivity, efficiency and speed, cost-saving, safety. (50 points)

Excellence in Growth – proudly sponsored by BDO

Recognising growth within a manufacturing company, through either consistent financial, people or market growth – important for achieving sustainable consistent growth over the long term. This category will recognise businesses in small to medium size (up to $10m in annual turnover) and medium to large size (more than $10m in annual turnover).

  1. Organisation should have been trading for at least the three years prior to the nominations closing date and be able to demonstrate the growth over the three or four year period.
  2. Nomination must demonstrate growth over the past three or four year period in one or more of the following: (80 points)
    1. People – demonstrate total employee growth (full time and part time employees)
    2. Financial – demonstrate financial growth, through increase in total revenue or profit (can be demonstrated in percentage terms)
    3. Market – demonstrate how the company has grown within one or multiple markets (can be demonstrated through market share, or adaptability in pivoting the business to respond to environment, such as the COVID-19 crisis)
  3. Tell us about what the growth has allowed the organisation to do, do differently, improve or change (20 points)

An application used in smart factories, to improve the manufacturing process.

  1. Application must be new to market or have significant changes to an existing version, within the two years prior to the nominations closing date
  2. Nomination must demonstrate how the application differs from other available market offerings. (20 points)
  3. Nomination must demonstrate how the application enhances at least one of the following: cost-saving, efficiency, safety, environment, production outputs, waste reduction. (60 points)
  4. Nomination must include a case study/practical example demonstrating success at a manufacturing operation (where possible, an Australian organisation should be used or how it will apply to the Australian market). (20 points)
