Formerly known as Farnell, element14 has expanded its partnership with circuit protection device manufacturer, Littelfuse, to provide a wider range of Littelfuse products in Asia Pacific.
The expansion will see the electronics component distributor add over 400 new products from Littelfuse POWR-GARD circuit protection solutions across three classes of fuses to electronic design engineers and maintenance and repair professionals in South East Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
According to the company, the introduction of the multi-purpose circuit protection series will allow electronic design engineers in the region to have the necessary surge protection solutions to meet evolving business challenges in the region.
The fuses can reportedly be used in a variety of applications including motor control centres, transformer protection, general purpose circuit, such as mains, feeders and branch circuits; service entrance switches, switchboard main and feeder switches, distribution panel boards and general purpose circuits.
The fuses can also be used to protect individual electric services and meter stacks when integrated in main switches.
The company re-launched itself with a new name, new corporate branding and a new lease on life last year.
Formerly Farnell, now ‘element14’ the rebranding is part of the company’s multi-million dollar transformation aimed to up-to-date it with its regional competitors.
element14 offers Asia Pacific’s manufacturing, OEMS and electronic design engineers more than 120,000 products for next- day delivery through a multi-cur rency, multi-language eCommerce engine, global eCommunity of engineers and other support and services.
The company currently employs over 4,000 people in 28 countries, has over two million customers worldwide in 256 industry segments, purchases direct from 3,500 suppliers and has over four million products available online.
The ‘element14’ identity is expected to re-invigorate the business and also alleviate the need for various legacy brands across Asia Pacific region.
The Farnell brand has always been a huge market player supplying products for electronic design engineers, manufacturers and large OEMs, and mainte nance and repair engineers for 21 years now, and still retains some of its original customers. Traditionally, Farnell has been a UK-based catalogue supplier of electronic design goods.
