Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited (EOS) has secured a $108 million contract to deliver remote weapon systems (RWS) for the Australian Defence Force’s LAND 400-3 project.
The agreement, with Hanwha Defence Australia – the project’s prime contractor – includes RWS, spare parts, training, and documentation, with delivery scheduled for 2025 to 2027.
EOS will supply an enhanced R400 RWS, customised to ADF requirements and fully integrated with Hanwha’s Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle. The systems will be manufactured in Canberra, drawing on a domestic supply chain of more than 100 Australian manufacturers.
The LAND 400-3 project will deliver 129 Infantry Fighting Vehicles to the Australian Army, enhancing combat capability and operational resilience.
EOS operates across two divisions – Defence Systems and Space Systems – specialising in advanced weapon integration, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technologies, and space domain awareness.
The company said the contract underscored its role in strengthening Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities and supporting local industry participation.
“This announcement has been authorised for release to the ASX by the Board of Directors of the Company,” EOS said in a statement.
