Dyesol assembling large DSC solar panels

DYESOL has announced its subsidiary startup in the US is now assembling prototype Dye Sensitised Solar Cells (DSC) panels exceeding 120 by 60cm size.

This panel size represents the largest continuous substrate, single circuit series connected DSC device made to date.

The Dyesol and DyeTec Solar team overcame challenges associated with assembly of large glass-based DSC solar panels, which will be used for Building Integrated Photo Voltaic (BIPV) applications.

According to Dyesol, the panel size was only limited by available prototyping equipment. It utilised the JV partners Transparent Conduction Oxide glass and DSC materials.

A 2012 report by NanoMarkets indicates the BIPV market for glass is expected to reach US$6.4bn in revenues in 2016.
