DroneShield has promoted Louis Gamarra to chief commercial officer, tasking the senior executive with leading the company’s global sales strategy as demand for counter-drone technology accelerates across defence and security markets.
Based in Sydney, the counter-drone specialist said Gamarra will work closely with its worldwide sales teams and distributor network to drive sustained growth in key international markets.
The appointment comes as DroneShield continues to expand its global footprint and diversify its customer base across military, government, law enforcement and critical infrastructure sectors.
Gamarra brings extensive commercial leadership experience to the role, having previously served as a senior sales and commercial director at DroneShield.
In that capacity, he played a central role in expanding the company’s presence across international markets and strengthening engagement with strategic partners and customers.
In his new position, Gamarra will oversee the development and execution of DroneShield’s global commercial strategy, with a focus on optimising channel performance and enhancing customer relationships.
The company said the role is critical to ensuring operational alignment as it scales internationally and transitions into its next phase of commercial execution.
DroneShield chief executive Oleg Vornik said the promotion reflects the importance of strong commercial leadership as the business grows.
“As DroneShield continues to scale globally, strong commercial leadership is critical to turning demand into sustained performance,” Vornik said. “Louis has consistently demonstrated the ability to align strategy with execution across regions, customers, and partners. His leadership will be instrumental as we strengthen our global sales organisation and distributor network.”
Over several years, Gamarra has been closely involved in driving sales momentum for DroneShield’s advanced counter-drone solutions.
He has worked with cross-regional teams to expand the company’s presence in high-growth markets including Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, supporting significant operational and revenue milestones as demand for counter-drone technologies has increased.
Gamarra said the timing of the appointment coincides with a period of rapid expansion for the business.
“I am honoured to step into the role of Chief Commercial Officer at this pivotal time for DroneShield,” he said. “We are in a period of rapid global expansion and increasing demand for CUAS solutions, and I look forward to advancing our strategic sales initiatives, empowering our teams, and delivering value to customers and partners around the world.”
DroneShield said the appointment reinforces its focus on scalable growth, operational execution and long-term value creation across international markets, while further strengthening its executive leadership team to support future expansion.
