The Department of Defence (DoD) has officially put out its IT procurement panel out to tender, according to ARN.
The DoD put out a request to tender on 30 January to create its new Information Communication and Technology Provider Arrangement (ICTPA).
The ICTPA is a new panel arrangement and covers three service areas: systems integration; application services; and IT services. DoD’s proposed service term for the panel is five years, followed by a three-year extension, then a two-year extension.
Potential IT providers have until 28 February to get their bids. Evaluation of applications are expected to take four-five months then preparation of deeds for preferred tenderers are set to conclude in August.
The new panel will replace the department’s outgoing Applications Managed Services Partnership Arrangement (AMSPA) scheme, worth A $340 million over its five-year life-span.
Previous AMSPA suppliers included Accenture, BAE Systems Australia, CSC, IBM, and HP Australia.
DoD spends more than a billion dollars’ worth of IT contracts annually. In November last year, the department released the latest version of its IT transformation plan, with plans to spend $10 billion over ten years.
