Caltex to up spending on distribution and supply

Fuel business Caltex Australia has plans to increase its supply and distribution spending two-fold after it closes the Kurnell refinery in 2014, the Australian Financial Review reports.

The Kurnell refinery’s closure, announced in July, will see it converted into an import terminal and Lytton become Caltex’s only Australian refinery. 600-plus jobs will go at Kurnell.

Caltex CEO Julian Segal told the AFR that the company will focus on making transport fuels while possibly moving into other sectors.
