NEW SOUTH WALES based engineering company, Broens Industries, has recently purchased South Australian company Static Engineering.
With a global presence in the commercial and defence aerospace industries, Static Engineering is world renowned for its specialty T.A.L.U (Truck Aircraft Loading Unloading) and T.A.S.L.U (Truck Aircraft Side Loading Unloading) cargo loading vehicles.
These are specifically designed for the Hercules, C130 and C17’s, as well as their array of Ground Support Equipment and Materials Handling Equipment.
Static Engineering was released for sale after the recent passing of its Director who established the business in 1958.
Broens Industries MDCarlos Broens said it was an opportune time to grow the Broens business, whilst maintaining the intellectual property in Australia.
“Static Engineering has an enviable manufacturing capability and enormous potential for business growth within the commercial and defence markets,” he said.
Broens, whose head office and key engineering and manufacturing facility resides just southwest of Sydney in NSW Australia, has over 150 employees, and who also have a small manufacturing plant in Edwardstown SA, was originally looking to purchase property on the new “TechPort” site.
The aim of this proposed move was to expand the company’s operations in South Australia, predominantly in response to all the defence and mining opportunities prevalent in Australian industry today.
However, the sale of Static gave Broens an established premise in close proximity to the TechPort site, an ideal location to provide manufacturing solutions for the Air Warfare Destroyer program.
“By purchasing Static Engineering, we have a complete entity that is in full operation at our disposal, it’s a privilege to take ownership of a company who have an established business platform and are currently doing business in the industries which Broens primarily targets, and we look forward to furthering our relationships with the commercial and defence sectors.” Broens commented.
