Brisbane garment business plans expansion

Garment printing business The Print Bar plans to expand its local manufacturing capacity, and hopes the fall of the Australian dollar delivers a boost in sales.

The Brisbane-based company – which manufactures offshore in locations such as Bangladesh, as well as locally – uses artwork from Australian artists. According to its website, there is no minimum or maximum run of t-shirts for customers and the company is run by a team of designers, artists and print specialists.

Jared Fullinfar, Print Bar’s founder and owner, told The Courier Mail that a “solid amount” of manufacturing was carried out in Australia, and he hoped to increase this.

“…although it’s more expensive to manufacture here, it’s easier to do business and we can keep an eye on things much more, keeping the quality high,” he said.

The company has won several awards, including at the Australian Small Business Champion Awards last year and the BRW top 100 fast-growing companies in 2014.
