According to a company statement, Payne will step down in September next year, following the completion of the annual reporting process.

Brickworks Chairman Mr Robert Millner commented, “The Board expresses its sincere thanks to Mr Payne for his significant contribution to the growth and success of the Brickworks Group over many years. He has supported Brickworks with considerable experience, professionalism and commitment to the Company.”

Brickworks net profit for the 12 months to July 31 was $78.1 million. Although this represented a 24 per cent drop from the previous year, the company remains optimistic and is expecting strong growth in 2016 as construction continues to grow in major cities.
