Award for phosphate-free pre-treatment product

Henkel has received the Manufacturing Process & Capital Equipment award at the 2009 PACE Awards in Detroit, Michigan for its phosphate-free pre-treatment product, Bonderite TecTalis.

Judges applauded Henkel as the “first to debut a phosphate-free, zirconium-based pre-treatment in the auto industry …The phosphate-free conversion coating process eliminates pre-treatment sludge, reduces landfill requirements and simplifies wastewater treatment.”

George Kazantzis, automotive business director, Henkel Asia said, “The Automotive News PACE Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. Henkel was first to introduce this technology – the first phosphate-free pretreatment alternative launched in the automotive industry. We are proud that TecTalis has won such recognition.”

A number of automotive suppliers were recognised at what is one of the world’s most valuable barometers for innovation in the automotive industry.
