3D design, engineering and entertainment software company Autodesk is introducing pay-as-you-go options for their software, beginning next week.
The option of monthly, quarterly and annual plans will apply to Autodesk Maya and Maya LT, 3ds Max, and Design and Creation Suites.
It describes the benefits from the plan as similar to the subscription offering, with basic support and access to Autodesk 360 cloud services.
“We expect rental plans to be attractive across all the industries we serve, especially for freelancers, startups or businesses that are project-based in nature,” said Andrew Anagnost, Autodesk’s senior vice president of industry strategy and marketing, in a statement.
“This model allows customers to compete with the highest quality, industry leading software, while using only what they need when they need it.”
The pay-as-you-go option will be available from September 16.
