Autodesk releases App for making things

Autodesk has released Fusion 360, a cloud-based tool that combines 3D industrial and mechanical design, collaboration, and machining in a single package.

Now available in Australia, Fusion 360 is said to be the first solution of its kind available for purchase worldwide on the Mac App Store.

The tool is designed to meet the changing needs of product developers and entrepreneurs.

With Fusion 360, designers and engineers can create products that have both form and function and prepare them for fabrication with one single tool. As a result, users can explore product ideas quickly and get a prototype far faster.

The tool also provides a single space for entire teams to collaborate on projects. Built-in and automated data management and sharing ensure all models, designs and information are automatically archived, versioned, managed and can be securely shared with stakeholders.

Additionally, the cloud-based nature of the solution means designers and engineers can access the system anytime, anywhere, whether in the office, or on the go.
