MMI funds world-first commercial aluminium smelter recycling plant

ABx Group Limited has announced that its subsidiary, ALCORE Limited (Alcore), has been granted $7.5 million from the federal government’s Modern Manufacturing Initiative to support its proposed $16.4 million aluminium smelter bath recycling plant in Bell Bay, Tasmania.

The Ai Group’s Australian Performance of Manufacturing Index (Australian PMI) increased a further 2.8 points to 58.5 in April – the highest monthly result since July 2021, as Australian manufacturing continues its strong post-COVID recovery with a third consecutive month in positive territory.

Kimberly-Clark – the parent company behind Huggies, Kleenex, Viva, U By Kotex, Poise and Depend – has appointed Belinda Driscoll as managing director for Australia and New Zealand. She is the youngest and first female managing director for the company in ANZ in almost 100 years.
