Defence contractor Quickstep is anticipating further growth over the next three years as production of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) ramps up globally.
According to its latest quarterly report, the Sydney-based advanced composite manufacturer has more than doubled its production for the program during the past year.
The company supplies 21 JSF components to Northrop Grumman – a principle member of the Lockheed Martin-led project – including doors, panels, and skins.
“Quickstep’s long-term vision is to become a world leader in advanced composites manufacturing,” said Mark Burgess, Quickstep CEO. “The company is focused on expanding its business in the aerospace, defence, automotive and other high-growth sectors.”

Quickstep also welcomed new managing director and CEO, Mark Burgess, to the business in May – the former Honeywell Aerospace Asia Pacific vice president taking over the reins from his predecessor, David Marino.
Quickstep is contributing to several operations including the JSF Program – a US$1.5 trillion (A$2 trillion) project which incorporates partner countries in building 3,000 fifth-generation fighters designed to perform ground attack and air defence missions.
Other operations include the development of Lockheed Martin’s C-130J Hercules aircraft and Thales Hawkei military vehicles.
“Quickstep remains engaged in a number of development projects … and is also negotiating with new and existing customers for additional growth opportunities at [its] Bankstown site,” Burgess added.
