Austech grows almost 15% in 2011

Australia’s foremost advanced manufacturing event, Austech 2011, ended with one of the best outcomes since its inception in 2000, according to organisers.

Co-located with National Manufacturing Week (NMW) and Ausplas, the industry event attracted a total of around 12,000 visitors – a growth of 10 to 15% compared to 2009 – with one out of every four visitors employed at top management level.

Austech exhibition manager, Kim Warren, Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL) said visitor attendance was up from every state; a sign of the industry’s drive to boost economic recovery.

More than 600 exhibitors from Australia and overseas showcased new and innovative technology Austech, NMW and Ausplas from May 23 to 27.

A major emphasis was placed on energy efficiency, productivity and ways to make things smarter at Austech this year.
