APPMA 2012 annual scholarship program submissions close Friday 11th May

Submissions for the 4th annual scholarship program offered by the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) in association with the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) are due on Friday 11th May.

The APPMA represents the packaging and processing machinery industry nationally. Now in its 4th year, the scholarship will enable a packaging engineer to enrol in and complete a Diploma in Packaging Technology from AIP.

According to Mr Mark Dingley, Chairman of the APPMA, the Diploma in Packaging Technology is an internationally recognised Level 5 qualification suitable for those wishing to pursue a career in the packaging industry or for those who are already in the industry and who wish to extend their knowledge and expertise.

The Diploma in Packaging Technology course has been offered by the AIP continuously since 1980. The Diploma prepares students to take responsibility for packaging operations at any level throughout the supply chain, providing an opportunity to study the principles of packaging, packaging materials and packaging processes.

Mr Pierre Pienaar, FAIP, National President of the AIP expresses his appreciation for associations such as the APPMA that recognise the importance of education and training, and are contributing to the growth of the packaging industry as a whole in Australia.

The AIP encourages all packaging engineers to register for the 2012 scholarship.

Submissions must be received by close of business on Friday 11th May, with the 2012 winner being announced during the AIP National Conference, which will be held on the 14th and 15th June at the Marriott Hotel, Surfers Paradise.
