Anti-Dumping Commission investigation into Chinese solar PV imports to resume

An investigation by the Anti-Dumping Commission into imported Chinese solar photovoltaic modules has been reopened. reports that Tindo Solar, whose complaints led to the original investigation commencing in May 2014, asked for a review in November last year.

The investigation was closed last October, with the ADC claiming that dumping had occurred, but “…the hindrance, to the Australian industry’s establishment, caused by certain crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules or panels exported to Australia at dumped prices is negligible.”

The commission’s decision was influenced by the fact that Tindo makes AC modules and Chinese imports are, in the main, DC, notes

“I intend to establish a proposed timeframe for the resumed investigation in due course, and will advise the interested parties accordingly,” said commissioner Dale Seymour in a statement.
