Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions (BAMS) has been recognised at the 2026 Endeavour Awards, winning the Advanced Manufacturing Excellence Award for its role in advancing large-scale automated manufacturing capability in Australia.

Working in partnership with renewable energy company RayGen, the business has helped transform a complex manual production process into a scalable automated manufacturing system designed to support the energy transition.

The recognition highlights the growing importance of advanced automation in commercialising Australian innovation and enabling local manufacturing at scale.

“It’s a significant nod to the Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions team and a celebration of our partnership with RayGen,” said Bradley Trewin, head of sales, marketing and key account programs at BAMS. “RayGen’s unique, future-focused technology is a vital part of the renewable energy transition, and we are proud to help bring it to life.”

“By applying Bosch standards and deep customer insights, we transformed a manual process into a mobile, automated factory capable of producing 300 heliostats a day,” said Trewin. “It is this level of technical rigour that turns brilliant Australian IP into a globally scalable commercial reality.”

BAMS was formed from Bosch’s long-standing automotive manufacturing operations in Australia, with a turning point occurring in 2013 when the division began offering its engineering expertise to external industries. Recognising that the precision and high-volume methodologies developed in automotive manufacturing had broader industrial applications, the company expanded into sectors including MedTech, food and beverage, FMCG and renewable energy.

“Since then, we have applied that expertise to a diverse range of sectors,” said Trewin. “Our inspiration remains the same: ensuring Australia maintains a sovereign, world-class capability in advanced automation.”

As part of the wider Bosch group, BAMS operates under the mission “Invented for life”, applying automation and engineering solutions to help manufacturers scale innovation into commercially viable production.

“For BAMS, this means engineering the manufacturing solutions that make life-changing innovation scalable,” Trewin said. “We are dedicated to building robust, automated processes that allow Australian companies to manufacture complex hardware locally and compete on a global stage.”

Looking ahead, the company plans to continue supporting Australian manufacturers through its Robotics & Automation, Manufacturing as a Service, Manufacturing Consulting and Equipment Servicing offerings. Central to this strategy is the continued development of its Clayton-based Manufacturing Automation Centre, which provides industry partners with an environment to prototype, test and validate turnkey manufacturing systems.

“We remain committed to bridging the gap between global innovation and local expertise to drive sustainable growth for Australian manufacturers,” said Trewin.
